The nebulae is a type that ends quickly - but you have made it end crisply, which essentially keeps alot of depth. I have to say you have done a good job adding texture & shape into this nebulae, mhmm, indeed a nice texture you have used, i can however see a few cut & paste marks, which i suggest you promptly soft-erase. Also some of the nebulae is over exposed, the light affect is good in some area's but perhaps a few contrasting strands of nebulae detail across this light would add a sense of depth, rather than just an implosion of immense lighting. But overall yes, quite a nice nebulae.
The starfield has some good variation & its minimal & sparse look has been used effectively to grant a sense of constellations. However again, i notice a few cut & paste marks around the place, i would just suggest to soft erase them again to remove its sudden end. The large stars are qutie nice, however im finding there glows end abrupty, try to make them gradientise outwards smoothly, so they look like the light actually passes away into the abyss, rather than stopping like a solid object. One more nitpick (hehe sorry
The planet is something i like - alot. Its a very cleanly done planet, & a well done gas planet. All the swirls & flow of its texture remind me of Jupitar's formations, not many people try gas planets, but you seem to have done this gas planet particularily well. Also its atmospheric cresent & darkside gradientation is depthed nicely, however i find the crescent glow contrasts a little bit on the darkside of the planet, i find atmospheres work best if they fit with the colouration of the planets texture, if the planets texture on the darkside of the planet was the same as the atmosphere, then your crescent would have no problems, this is one of those situations that you have to decide sometimes - Should you make the whole planet 1 colour, or try to make the atmosphere crescent actually fit in with the planetary texture. Thats all i can suggest really, of course if you know another way better than what i suggested, feel free to excercise your technique's thoroughly.
The planets ring is something i commend you for, you always seem to make planet rings nicely, that is, they have an edge, (they arent just swirls that fade away like floating gas, they actually have edges, they are actually ring shaped, not twirl shapes as many people end up with) & they have a nice balance of texturisation. In combination with the asteroids they make nice rings, as i see these asteroids here, & the ring looks all fuzzy, it makes me think how much closer to the viewer these asteroids are, & how many must be in the rings. The other thing thats commendable about the rings is that they are affected by lighting nicely, on the darkside of the planet the rings go dark, just like the planet goes dark, alot of people make the mistake of keeping the rings completely lighted, even if it was made of glow in the dark material it would be faint like this in a shadowed area of space, that is, unless the rings where made of fire or something that gives off a light source.
This is another point, you have some nicely done small details & background details, that when observed, make nice surprises for the eyes, for instance, the asteroids make a nice contrast in the picture, especially against the bright nebulae. I like the distribution & shaping of these asteroids you have made, they make for a nice affect, i enjoy how they are affected by light, as you can see light reflecting onto them, i can also see the detailing on them where they are lighted, another depth, there contrast in conjunction with lighting give them a nifty dimensional effect to them. I see other small details aswell, for instance, i see two ships on the right of the image which invoke a thought of escape, refuge, etc. etc. Something that adds to the picture, something that gives the image a story to ride off with. I think you could pull off a whole story just by focusing on these two ships, & how the interact with the scene.
The title font has a very professional feel to it, however i would have made the outer glow less notice-able. Also try the image without the dark band down the bottom, i think the text draws enough effect already, however if it was a faint font that spanned across the whole image, the dark band could have indeed come into use, but for the meanwhile i think the large font looks fine without the dark band.
Your definitely getting better & better at this stuff dude, Keep up this great work & before you know it you'll be a master
all, of course, if you find your own better methods, or learn some personal techniques, be sure to try them out!
Keep it up Andrew!

The future belies your preconceptions...
I LOVE the color variation, and yes your nebula is looking awesome. The asteroids peice are iffy, the bevel is kinda tacky... BUT.. still
Great job ma man.
